drinking alcohol has more cons than pros, don’t start or limit intake.

CONS

  • Alcohol causes changes in the function of the kidneys and makes them less able to filter the blood
  • increase cancer risk
  • makes you more depressed  (20, 21, 22).
  • increase accident & violence rate
  • affects your brain
  • disrupts your sleep quality
  • empty calories leads to weight gain

PROS

  • alcohol can raise your HDL  (42).
  • Cut the risk of diabetes  (44).
  • it can make you more social
  • moderate drinking might reduce dementia (16, 17, 18)
