Apply new knowledge
Apply new knowledge¶
Don’t just go online and learn a new coding language, without using it.
You need to apply your new knowledge for it to stick.
After learning something new, try to apply it.
e.g. When I learned Python online, I used this knowledge to make tools in Maya.

- learn technical art
- build a portfolio
- Preferably, do not put work you made while following a tutorial on your portfolio. It comes across as junior. A better approach is to apply new knowledge
- Goal driven learning
- Once I’ve learned Python, I can apply it on my tool in Blender, in ways the Python tutorials didn’t teach me directly. By applying my knowledge in new ways, I show myself I truly understand it, and will remember it better.
