Deter burglary

• prevent burglars from looking in
  • get curtains or blinds that prevent people from looking in
  • install (thorny) bushes under the windows so it’s harder to look in.
  • or add gravel under the windows so it makes noise.
• if you have a sliding door, add a stick on the inside when closed to prevent it from sliding open.
• add a flood light with motion detection to the front porch, and the back garden. This makes people near your house more visible.
• add a little bell to a garden / back door.
• your house is only as strong as your weakest door.
  • ensure people can’t enter your garage
• show that you have a dog (even if you don’t)
  • please close the gate so the dog wont get out sign feels less fake than beware of the dog signs
  • dog bowl in garden visible from street
• keep radio, tv and light on when away. e.g. with timer.
